JOSE BARCALA NEW COACH OF SERVETTE FCCF

The 41-year-old Spanish coach will be Garnet’s head coach next season.

Servette FCCF knows its new coach in the person of Jose Barcala. This young coach has accumulated a lot of experience in his career.

Trained at Deportivo de la Coruña where he coached various junior categories. The new SFCCF coach then became a physical trainer for the Libyan national team before flying to Australia and coaching the under-15s at the University of Queensland. After these two experiences outside of Spain, Jose Barcala returns to Deportivo and takes the helm of methodology and planning at the same academy he left earlier.

In 2017, Jose returned to Australia on the side of Brisbane Roar FC with the first team as well as the under 18s. He will continue his adventure in France near Bordeaux as an assistant coach then main interim coach in D1 Arkema. Two seasons ago, he served as an assistant and performance analyst at FC Aarau in the Challenge League while joining the staff of the Scottish women’s national team, a position he still holds today.

Richard Feuz, Sporting Director is delighted to start this new collaboration: “I am very happy to welcome Jose to our club. I am sure that her appointment will bring a breath of fresh air to the players and the staff and that she will be able to breathe new life into Servette FCCF. »

Jose Barcala has signed a one-season contract with the Garnets and will be at the helm of the team as soon as the resumption is scheduled for mid-July.
