The Servettiennes are in the Champions League play-offs! They won 2-0 against AC PAOK in the final of the “Champions’ Path” and are only one step away from the prestigious competition. What joy!
It’s done! Servette FCCF is in the Champions League play-offs! The Servettiennes win the final of the “Champions’ Path” by winning 2-0 against the Greeks of AC PAOK! The Geneva goal scorers are Rimante Jonušaite, on penalty (67th), and Manon Revelli (91st). But above all, it was the whole team that played a full match. PAOK never saw the ball and the Servettiennes perfectly controlled their subject. The Greeks had no choice but to barricade themselves in defense to try to hold on, but it was written that this match was for the Grenat.
This victory therefore propels Servette FCCF into the Women’s Champions League play-offs! José Barcala and his group will have to wait until Monday, 1 p.m., and the draw in Nyon to find out their opponent. Among the teams that could stand in the way of the Genevans, there are big names in European football. To name a few: Benfica, Slavia Prague, Roma, Celtic and Galatasaray. Who will play their participation in the Women’s Champions League against Servette FCCF? Answer this Monday!
The joy was immense in the Grenat camp, at the end of the match. This team is talented, certainly, but it especially has a lot of fun growing and evolving together. This is perhaps where the Servettiennes’ greatest strength lies. At all levels of the club, whether it be players, staff, sports management or directors, it is a united group that continues to move forward and bring Geneva women’s football to the best in the country. There is still one step left to measure up to the biggest clubs in Europe and the SFCCF will do everything to give itself a chance to get there.
