Bilyana Dudova, the Bulgarian wrestling star, secured her place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after succeeding in the semi-final of the European Olympic qualification in Baku in the 62 kg category. She defeated Ameline Douare of France, who is the European Under-23 runner-up, with a score of 3:0.
The competitor from the Ruse club Yunak-Lokomotiv dominated her rival, leading 2:0 only 1:20 minutes after the start. Despite Duar’s attempt to respond with an ankle grab, she was unable to convert this into points. In the second part, despite a warning for passivity, Dudova added another point to her score and successfully maintained her lead to secure a place in Paris.
At the tournament in Baku, Dudova didn’t drop a single point, defeating Sweden’s Johanna Lindborg by technical knockout in the quarterfinals.
