In other single-centre, randomized, double-blind, positive-controlled clinical trial, a total of 80 subjects were randomized (40 per group), subjects were balanced by demographics, such as age, gender, and BMI. The principle objective of this study was to examine the quick onset effects of a 1-week, daily supplementation with special synergistic combination of Baikal skullcap and Acacia at 485 mg/day on the indicators associated with osteoarthritis as compared with a positive control supplementation – a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with a dosage of 440 mg /day. The data was analysed by an independent statistician.

The results demonstrated that special synergistic combination of Baikal skullcap and Acacia supports the above clinical results and provide greater relief than that of the NSAID drug when taken for one week.

The special synergistic combination of Baikal skullcap and Acacia has demonstrated significant results in joint stiffness and function in another study with sixty subjects with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis of the knee and/or hip involved.

The clinical trial was a single-centre, randomized, double- blind, placebo and positive comparator-controlled study. Supplementation consisted of oral administration for 90 days of the placebo, special synergistic combination of Baikal skullcap and Acacia, or an active control NSAID drug. This study provided data to support that special synergistic combination of Baikal skullcap and Acacia was significantly more effective at dosage 240 mg/day and 485 mg/day than an active control NSAID drug 200 mg/day for the reduction of joint stiffness and joint function incapacity caused by osteoarthritis, within 30 days. Measures in all three areas – flexibility and mobility, joint comfort and physical function showed improvements that increased from the 30-day marker all the way to the 90-day marker.
